Obligations, Liabilities and Resources
The information below is for general information only and hirers are required to enter into a formal contract containing all conditions of use.
Insurance
All Hirers who mount performances at Te Whaea must have Public Liability Insurance.
OSH
To comply with Occupational Health & Safety requirements a Theatre Warden / Safety Officer is required for all public performances. One will be employed by Te Whaea Services at an hourly rate to be charged to the hirer.
Lighting
Where a grid is available (Te Whaea Theatre, Basement Theatre, Drama One) Dimmer packs are included in the hire charge for Te Whaea Theatre only. Lights are not available.
Sound
Some audio equipment may be included at hirer’s risk (CD / tape player may be available in the larger studios but are not available in Te Whaea Theatre, The Basement Theatre or the SEEyD Space).
Box Office
There is no dedicated Box Office on site and the hirer must provide suitable FOH staff and ushers. EFTPOS facilities are available by negotiation only.
Rubbish
Rubbish removal is the hirer’s responsibility and at their expense.
Parking
Te Whaea has great parking – 200 spaces are available and public transport is close.
