Toi Whakaari is passionate about challenging and extending our students' career options.
Practical career training is a part of all our programmes and we are constantly working with the potential employers of our current students and our graduates.
You can see this happening with shows like Penumbra, the graduation production from 2004, directed by our Head of Directing, Christian Penny, and directing graduate Jade Eriksen. Penumbra was written by acting graduate David Geary and designed by Head of Design, Penny Fitt with major devising input from acting, directing and entertainment technology students. Penumbra is having a new life at The Auckland Festival of the Arts in 2007. Check out Penumbra.
Then there's directing graduate Veialu Aila-Unsworth's animated short film, which she made as her major project for her Master of Theatre Arts in Directing. Blue Willow has now been to many of the key international film festivals and is still gaining accolades. Check out Blue Willow.
