Manawa Pou

A New Promenade Performance

If Wellington was a body, Te Aro would be the heart. The Exchange Building, once the historic Wellington
Produce Exchange, will weave together stories of people and the past of Te Aro.

Second year students collaborate on a site-specific work to explore what guardianship and history mean for them as young New Zealand practitioners.

Manawa Pou is a piece of promenade theatre that
invites us to engage anew with the pulse of Wellington.

This is our first production of 2009 and the first time a performance has been created in The Exchange Building, come and have a look.

Devised and directed by second year actors, designers, costume construction students and technical students, with some help from tutors Heather Timms and Teina Moetara.

Do one thing everyday that scares you.

What was is like before any of this was here?

The birds are migrants too.

To do extraordinary things you don’t have to be put in extraordinary situations

Age changes things.
