We are now open for applications to study at Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School in 2024. Applying is easy, simply use our online Application Form.

Applications for the Acting programme close on August 18, and all other courses remain open until September 29, 2023.

Online Q&A Sessions

Toi Whakaari are holding two online Q&A sessions on Wednesday July 12, 2023.

If you are wondering if Toi Whakaari is the kura for you to grow your artistic craft and practice, this is a great chance to meet some of our friendly staff and answer those burning questions surrounding the application process, student life and support, and curriculum.

Toi Whakaari Open Day

The Toi Whakaari Open Day, held on Friday August 25, 2023, is an opportunity to explore our high-quality facilities at Te Whaea - National Dance & Drama Centre and get a sense of our school values and student culture. 

Participants are asked to register their attendance online using the form below. You will receive a tour of the school, meet key staff and tutors, and learn more about our programmes.

If you’re considering studying at Toi Whakaari but unsure where to start, our website provides all the information you need to know about our courses. No question is a silly question, and on our FAQ’s page you might find the answers already exist! 

Sometimes it’s better to get a sense of our kura in-person. We are always open to providing tours of the building, and we encourage you to make an appointment in advance. Whether it’s just yourself, your whānau, or a group - simply get in contact and our team will help you out.

As part of our teaching program, our students produce a number of incredible productions - many of which are open to the public! Our Performance Season page tells you all about our upcoming events and to attend.
